The Bengals did the favor of beating the Broncos on Monday Night Football - securing the number one seed and the all important 'home field advantage throughout the playoffs' for the New England Patriots. To put it in perspective - the three most likely conference championship opponents are Denver, Indy, and the Bengals- The Patriots CRUSHED all three this year. Good luck in Gillette to the rest of the AFC.

The road to the Super Bowl once again runs through New England in the AFC after the Bengals defeated the Broncos on Monday Night Football.
This run is simply incredible - and to anyone that didn't watch the game last night - let this Patriots fan tell it to you - the Super Bowl favorites are the Seahawks. Period.
It was an ugly game and the stats reflect that - with the punter Ryan Allen racking up a total of 263 punting yards - far too much for the New England Offense -
All in all, the Jets did help re-expose some of the faults of the offensive line that have surfaced at varying points this season - most notably against KC in a brutal loss. Can the Patriots fix these or are they 'fatal' flaws? Based on what I saw out of Seattle last night - the Patriots WILL need to play better if they have any chance to win the Super Bowl. The Patriots seemed to have trouble finding motivation for this game and their play showed it. For most of the contest, the Patriots played uninspired football on both sides - the defense yielding long drives to a hapless Jets team and a non-NFL caliber QB in Smith. However, as been the usual during Tom Brady's tenure - the team found a way to win ugly and came away with the victory. The team will have to be better next week against the Bills if they want to have the number one seed in the conference.
Last week's picks were the first under 50 percent, so let's back to getting some games right. Here are the picks.
1) Ravens over Texans - Houston is playing a back-up, go with the Ravens. 2) Saints over Falcons - Someone has to win this division - I think it will be the Saints. 3) Steelers over Chiefs - I think the Steelers will run the ball and win a close game. 4) Panthers over Browns - All Week I was thinking I was going to pick the Browns, but the Panthers D is actually starting to play with cohesion - Pick Panthers. 5) Cowboys over Colts - In what could be the game of the week, Murray is indeed playing and should find easy yards against a weak Colts run D. Pick Cowboys. |
