COP is selling as oil once again heads south. The big question is - what to do now?
Is COP a sell or a buy if 50 breaks?
The answer to that question is - do you believe crude oil will stay at depressed levels for an extended period of time? If so, then earnings for COP, XOM etc will suffer and eventually the dividend will be in trouble. However, if you think oil will soon rise back up to a higher level, the oil stocks are on a great sale and you should be snapping these companies up while that price action lasts.
I don't have the answer on crude oil, so the rating has to be a hold.
Short term rating = HOLD
Long term rating = BUY
